My experience tells me what is best for scorpions so I am happy to share some thoughts. A short summary here:
- A scorpion is an ambush predator, so it will eat literally anything up to its own size. In captivity, roaches are usually enough.
- You are what you eat! You have to take good care of your feeder insects.
- Turkish roaches are useful, but also problematic because of their speed, risk of infesting your home, and intelligence 😉
- Dubia roaches are great — they eat a lot, so you can easily load them up with nutrients.
- Crickets are too loud to keep in smaller apartments. They’re also very… bloodthirsty 😉 and can harm scorpions during molting.
- Madagascar hissing cockroach are great for bigger species, but they’re also very cute, so be warned that feeding time can feel pretty sad 😉
I hope my video will be useful for beginners. Let me know in the comments what experience or knowledge you have!
